Mission Statement
Obbligato has been open for 29 years this year. For 28 of those years
we have run as a family business. This business model works great
for small businesses, but the model hit its limit with about 30 employees.
We finally hired a consultant last year who guided us through the
process of turning a family business into a corporate business. This
all began with company-wide laser like focus on a mission statement.
Answering the following questions and writing the answers down, allowed
us to build a workable mission statement.
1. what kind of business do you want to be?
2. What will separate you from other similar businesses?
3. How do you want to treat your employees?
4. How would you like to treat your guests?
5. What size do you imagine your company in the future?
6. What do you enjoy about your business?
The simple act of writing the answers to these questions on a piece of
paper will do wonders for the future of you business.
